You have all the Components in place. That’s a great news but hang on !
Where would you fit them. All incomplete until you have selected this component.
Motherboard or the Main Board – is literally the mother of the system which takes care of all the components and facilitates the communication between them. More ignored than not while building up a PC, this deserves equal and sometimes more attention than the other components including the processors, graphic cards and others. Not Selected properly, You could end up in chaos. Panic not as the steps below should help you choose your motherboard with ease.
First to look for when buying a main board is the Form Factor - ATX, Micro ATX or Extended ATX. ATX is more common of all of these and a majority of the cabinets available in the market support this form factor.
The next thing to check for is the compatibility with the processors. Check the socket type of the processor and see if it is compatible with the board you have selected. The CPU might not fit in if a wrong product is selected that is not compatible with the Socket type of your processor.
Interface would be the next thing to check on and tallied with the Drive Interfaces which come in a variety of forms the IDE, EIDE, SATA, SCSI. Check what is appropriate for your drives if you have already bought your drives.
Slot types also deserve complete consideration or you could have problems fixing in your expansion cards, like the Graphic Cards and others. For eg. If your motherboard support AGP or PCI, based on which you would have to decide on your graphic card.
Also Consider that you have the appropriate number of USB Port connectors.
We personally recommend, making a list of all the components that you would need to build a pc, before actually buying any of that. Once you have checked the compatibility of each other, you could go for the purchase.
